Expiring EAD

Hello everyone,

My additional 240 days for the interim EAD are about to expire. Renewal EAD application pending for more than 18 months - when contacted the CIS, all they said was that they are doing security checks (oh puh-leeeeez). Any ideas on what could possibly be done? I have written to the congressman and made CIS appointments. Does anyone know a fax number for the Vermont Service number for expediting EAD requests or something like that?

Can you please let me know how you managed to get Interim EAD since USCIS stopped issuing Interim EAD's from Oct 2006?

My wife's EAD will be expired mid of next month. We have applied for renewal since April 2007. We have made an appointment to the local office to check about the Interim EAD possibility. Could you share with us how do you manage to obtain the interim EAD? Thanks.
 
It looks like your wife is in the same situation as me. I applied for my EAD renewal in mid April and am still waiting. My EAD is expiring next month as well. My application got transferred to california. I am not sure what's taking them so long considering my I485 interview is done and my case got stuck in namecheck.

Where is your wife's application being processed ? Did you receive any update recently ?

Btw, I scheduled Infopass appointment last week. I was told that interim EAD's are not issued anymore. The officer said that the best they can do is send an email to the processing center.
