:confused:Hello, I am a green card holder living in New Jersey. I have never travelled outside the United States since becoming a green card holder. My Passport expired January 28th 2008. I have a naturalization interview coming up October 30th 2008. Will my Old passport that has not yet been renewed pose a problem for me at the interview?

no you never traveled and either way its ok you dont need a current passport..i had my interview i took my expired passport with me..they only look at the visas and the entry or departure on the passport even if it is expired so dont worry about expired passport take your drivers license and your greencard most of all.

the interview officer will not care if your passport has expired.

however, be sure that you can document that you have not been outside of the US for extended periods of time.
(i.e. breaking your continuos residence requirement)

my passport had absolutely no stamps, despite the fact that I have been outside of the US ten or eleven times since
becoming a US greencard holder. The foreign and US immigration passport-control officers never bothered to stamp
my passport coming and going. It was partly my own fault, as I never took out my passport when entering the US...
the US CBP officer only asked to see my greencard only... so no US entry stamps... Same deal with the foreign border
guards, because my original passport allowed unlimited visa-free entry into those EU/Asian/S&N American countries,
so they only take one quick glance and allowed me. (in fact, by becoming a US citizen, I now have to get visas to
several of these countries) I should have insisted on them stamping each and every entry/exit.

This caused the interview officer to question me, because I clearly listed ALL of my trips on the N-400 form. The
interview officer was curious as to how I entered/exited the country with a completely blank passport. (save the
original I-551 stamp when I was approved for greencard) I explained and the officer was satisfied with my answer.
