expired H4 visa but valid I94

My wife has expired H4 visa on passport but having valid H4 approval notice with I 94 of present employer.

Does that ok for coming back from Canada by drive after 4 days trip?

Yes you guys will need the US Visa. I-94 is valid for your stay inside the US only. While travelling back to US you need a valid Visa.

I think if you are going to Canada for less than 30 days by drive then expired visa with valid I94 works. The US officer does not take your I94 when you leave USA so same I94 works for entry in usa.

No you dont need visa

Rahul please read the following thread which clearly mention that if you have expired visa with valid I-94 and if you will back within 30 days from Canada,Mexico you dont need visa to re-enter USA.

I am also in same boat and planning to land with expired visa and valid I-94 and planning to come back within a week from Canada.
