Experience with travelling with I-551 stamp in passport

Hi,

Recently my wife got her passport stamped for I-551 after interview at local office. Can she travel to India with out any problems? Does every one recognize the stamp as a valid document for re-entry? Or should we wait for plastic cards?
We do not even have the approval notice in mail because this was an approval after interview.

Stamp is good to travel on.

I read a story on Rupnet a family travelled and upon entering back into the USA they were sent into the office and had to verify their SSN# and was told this will happen everytime they travel until they receive the actual card.
