Hi Friends,

This is my experience talking with IIO today morning..

I called BCIS, 1-800# today morning. I started calling around 8.45am and got through around 9am. I think my suggestion to everyone is to call BCIS in morning between 8-9..

I Spoke with some lady, that lady is nice, she was giving answers to all my questions patiently..

Reason for calling:: wanted to know the status of my AP. Its my second AP. My AP notice date is 25 March,03..My status is not shown neither on BCIS web site nor on 1-800#..

She asked me the following Questions:

Wac#
Notice Date
Applied Date
Whether address is same
A#
Date of birth
Country of birth
Full address
Phone #

She told me that my processing time of AP is complete and told me that she sent fax to somewhere to approve my case..
Also she told me that i will get response of that fax in next two weeks..

Then in the end, she asked me what all other cases are pending

I told her 485..
She asked me filing date of my 485
485 is employment based/what category

Then she told me that INS is taking 18 months to open file/approve case(I dont know exactly which one is true)
.

I applied 485 in Jan,02. SO i told her 18 months is almost over. Then she told me that my 485 waiting time is next moth and she also told me that INS will transfer u'r case to LOCAL OFFICE and they they will call us...

I dont know what this transfer means...

I told her that my address is same, then why INS will transfer case to LOcal office. She told me that Its a normal procedure for INS these days in CA..

Friends, can anybody tell me , if some case is transfered to local office, what does that mean... How long case will take in approving after transfering to local office. Till now may case is very straight forward .

Please suggest me..

thanks everyone and good luck to all.

Please suggest me: what do u mean by transfering case to Local office.. ????

Thanks

It means interview. Local center will set up interview time for you. Where do you live?

Actually, I have not received any Interview letter and dont know whether my case will transfer or not..

My case may transfer to Local office, This statement was told by IIO to me...

If my case will transfer to local office, how long will it take to schedule an interview??

Whats all documents are needed at that time??? What all preparations we have to do for that..

IIO was telling me these days INS is taking 18 months to approve 485. How much this statement is true.. Are they approving all 485 cases whose 485 date cross 18 months..

Is it a normal procedure for INS to transfer cases to local office.

I am residing in Redwood City, CA.

Thanks

Is it San Mateo county? In this case your I-485 will go to San Francisco. Try to use search there were posts about cases transfered to SF. As I remember it takes about six months in SF for schedule interview after transfer, but may be I'm wrong about six months. Use search.

Yes, My place is coming under San MAteo County..

But dont understand why my case will transfer.. when its a straight forward case. I got everything without any problem, my address is same, no rfe tilll now in anything..

If IIO told this: then is it true that my case will definately transfer to Local Office...in future

IIO has started looking January, 02 cases or not. On which criteria, INS will transfer cases to Local Office..

Thanks

gc_cal,

As she said your case will be pickedup and processed in one month, IIO can no way tell you that the case is already transferred. Probably the IIO simply guessed that the case may be transferred to local INS for interview, but not transferred yet! Based on all the cases she has seen so far for CSC may be she thought that now a days majority cases are being transferred for interview in CSC but we know for sure that it is not the case. So don't worry much about it.

Thanks alot PCee for always giving moral support.

Hope INS will start working and will approve all cases soon..

I think it is better not to call the IIOs and get confused ourselves. It seems they are also clueless just tell whatever they guess. Don't lose your sleep about that, things may turn out differently for your case.

INS/BCIS has destroyed all our future plans.. In our life, everything depends on 485.

We just hope that we will get our greencards one day.................

Yeah, always wondered On what basis do they select the applications to transfer to a local office instead of approving them ?

gc_cal, don't believe IIO for a minute. She has no clue of what's really happening in processing rooms. Don't bother calling them anymore, they will just keep giving you vague answers. if you're really worried about your case, send a fax inquiry to CSC. She has no way of knowing in advance if your case will be transfered or not. So please lay back, relax and don't worry about the conversation you had with an IIO today. Your turn will come

iio @ 800 #

The iio's at 800 number do not know any status other than
what is listed on the website. The do not have access to
the screens iio's used to at 949 #. If you insist on more
information they will send an inquiry to CSC using the
form listed in csc operating procedure...which you can also
do and the turn around time is the same. This has been
my experience....

Urgent: AP Question
Hi All,

PCEE, Sillyman, etc please suggest me what I have to do in this situation. I am highly worried about the status of my AP renewal. My AP notice date is 25 March,03.

Today I checked my status and it states that::

On June 23, 2003, we mailed a notice requesting additional evidence or information in this case. The notice explains in detail what additional material is needed. If you have questions about the notice, what is required, or if 14 days have passed and you have not received the notice. Please contact the service center where you submitted your application during business hours

PCee, SIllyman, etc:: is this an RFE for AP??? IS their anybody who has seen this type of status for their cases????

WHat should I have to do? I sent all my documents while doing AP renewal.

Thanks a lot and hope to get quick responses.

What is worse than IIOs reading out stuff, is them sounding off on how things are going to proceed, when they have no clue.

I am pretty certain that there are a number of novice IIOs out there who are either giving out anecdotal information on procedure, or trying to apply their experience on some earlier case (like family based 485, with, say, pehaps an interview requirement for some reason) to EB, clear, I-485 cases, when they have no idea what they are talking about.

Yeah, if you and I set up an information center like that, we would probably be sued.
