Expedited passport processing questions - need to travel 3 weeks after naturalization

I have a trip planned 3 weeks after my naturalization ceremony. I understand that I can apply for an expedited passport at the Washington passport agency only if my travel is within 14 days of the application date - otherwise, I would have to apply at a post office, where the regular processing time is given as 4-6 weeks.

Does this mean I should wait until I'm within 2 weeks of my travel date, and then apply at the Washington passport agency? Or can I apply for expedited passport processing at the post office itself, immediately after my naturalization ceremony? On the state.gov website, it says even expedited processing takes 2-3 weeks, so I'm a little worried about applying at the post office for expedited processing, in case I don't get my passport in time for my trip.
Any advice? Thanks!

Do you require a visa after you get your US passport? Do plan time for that.
Dont' worry about the 2 week vs 3 week issue. Just land up and they will do it. You require a prior appointment, and if you can ... do book it 10-14 days in advance. If you show up without an appointment, you might still be processed.
When you have a trip in 3 weeks, you can go for visa by mail / post office, but each additional day adds to your nerves. It may not take 2-3 weeks, although they have to give a higher processing timeline so that there are not too many people calling. If you can afford the time and money, get it done at the agency in person. You will get the passport same day / next day.

I would recommend using VisaPassportNow.Com - you enter in your destination and date of travel and they advise you on whether you need an expedited passport/visa and then provide you with a list of the best expeditors that meet your criteria. Good luck!

I think this is spam / advertising given that this is jaydonro's first post. I checked the site and you need to provide personal information before it will give you any information. Also, it seems to be fee based service. Definitely spam.
