Expedited oath?

Hi folks,

Just wondering if its a good idea to request for an expedited oath based on an impending AOS filing and I 94 expiry issue for my wife. Would that even be considered as a valid reason? I was wondering if I should take my marriage certificate at the Infopass and request for an expedited oath explaining my issue.
Will that be a good idea at all? I don't want to create a problem for myself though. What do you guys think?
Thanks in advance for any help rendered.

Agree with TRC. He made a good point. cr.mash you are just worrying for nothing. Once you become a USC, your wife's expired I-94 will no longer be an issue so just chill out and don't worry about expediting your oath. This could unecessary raise a flag so let things move the way they are moving and everything will be ok.

Agreed, will flow with the tide then. But have to say it does make me MAD just thinking that its already been 3 months and what they could be doing sitting on my approved application for Pete's sake!
Its not exactly a wonderful start to a new life with my new wife, worrying about the what ifs. Just my 2 cents.thanks Real Canadian and Atlanta Brother.

Hey cr.marsh...I'm almost in the same position as you are. The only difference is that only 2 weeks past since my interview. I am kinda freaking out too because her grace period ends in couple of weeks. If I were you I'd schedule as many infopasses as I can. I've waited two weeks and scheduled an infopass; the IO told me that even though my case was approved, I was not scheduled for an oath ceremony yet. Give me a break; how hard is to print out the freaking letter and mail it to out???

So, go to these infopass appointments untill they get sick and give you that oath letter right there.

BTW have already done 3 infopasses, this is the 4th after the interview and a letter to the DO as well...no respite!

The Oath Letter Arriveth!

Ok friends the Oath letter is here. Sure enough it is one day after the wife's I 94 expiry!

I am planning to go and request them for an earlier date for the oath armed with my marriage certificate etc.If they don't agree, do you suggest applying for an extension on her B1/B2 right away and then later applying for the AOS soon after the oath?
I am really uncomfortable with the overstay issue (even though it would just be a few days)and want to show the USCIS that my intentions are not wrong. So, at least I already have 3 infopass appointments and a letter to them stating that I need an expedited oath.So do I look at asking for an extension on the B1/B2? What do you suggest?
Thanks in advance.

Since your wife has clear immigrant intent, it's likely that a B extension will be considered frivolous (at best) or fraudulent (at worst). Neither will keep her in status, and the latter can get her into serious trouble.

Stop worrying about her being in status, and make sure that when you do file, all the documentation is put together properly and nothing is missing. Make sure you have good evidence of your shared life together. Worry about that, more than her status.

Congrads cr.marsh!!! I think TheRealCanadian made a good point. If I were you, I would not mess arround with uncle Sam. Remember that your USC was a given to you priveledge and not a born right.
