I spoke with INS customer service, they told me that's possible, and the INS answer is supposed to come within weeks.
But the grounds (as I remember) are: to show economic necessity of the employer or humanitarian reasons.
Every time I contacted my lawyer, he said the reasons were not strong, even when my father-in-law was very sick, then dying in my home country.
(We couldn't obtain AP, stuck in the US for 13 years).
My I485 is now pending for 10 months in NYC (transferred from Vermont).
Any ideas?
Any experiences?
Thanks guys!
