Exceptional Issue, Need Advice

I am a DV2009 winner from Bangladesh. As all of you know, in the initial application they did not ask for father's name. But when I was selected as a winner and filled up the form DS-230 - Part I. In item 15 & 16, I wrote:
15. Father's Family Name: XXXXXX
First Name: XXXXXX
Middle Name: XXXXXX
16. Father's Date of Birth: August XX, 19XX
Place of Birth: XXXXXX
Current Address: N/A
If deceased, give year of death: 2005

Now I am collecting my passport, birth certificate and all other necessary papers as required. As my father died in 2005, the respective authorities of passport and birth certificate will add a "Late" before my father's full name. When I was born my father was alive but as I am collecting my birth certificate now, they will add "Late" in front of father's full name. Also the issue date of the birth certificate will be recent.

In my all Educational Certificates there is no "Late" before my father's full name as because when these certificates was issued my father was alive.

So my questions are:
1) As there are no "Late" before my father's name in all educational certificates and in DS-230 Part I (mentioned the death of year) and "Late" would be included before my father's name in my passport and birth certificates.
*** This issue will make any problem at my interview?

2) This "Late" will make any problem while I would be in USA.

3) Should I try to request the authorities not to add "Late" before my father's full name in my passport and also in my birth certificate. (Of course it depends upon them).

** Your specific and sequential answers will be appreciated.

Thanks

Hello !

why you keep trouble yourself, your father has already died ! right ?

do you have prepare him death certificate ?? lets make that one.

no problem,
dony worry, you are all right

Hi,
Thank you for reply. No, I did not collect my father's death certificate. So, I will collect it as you advised.

But please answer my question:
1) As there are no "Late" before my father's name in all educational certificates (as my father was alive that time) and in DS-230 Part I (mentioned the death of year), so if "Late" are included before my father's name in my passport and birth certificates (as the issue date is recent).
Please tell me clearly, this is ok or problem?
Thanks

I really wouldn't worry about this issue. They are not trying to catch you out in any way, so as long as you can explain (if asked) about the situation then you will be just fine.

All they want is to know there is no fraud being carried out, which clearly there isn't. I would follow the above advice and get your Father's death certificate and have it with you during interview just in case the question comes up.

Hi,
Thank you for the reply. I have a passport already which I received 2 years ago. The passport authority did overwriting in my current address for that reason I need to get a new passport now. So, I have a scope to take out "Late" before my father's name as I have to prepare a new passport. And the birth certificate I have not received yet. If I want, both documents can be prepared without the word "Late" before my father's name. So, my questions are:
1) "Late" should be included in my passport and birth certificate and I should collect my father’s death certificate.
2) Or it is better not to have “Late” in both documents as it is not part of my father’s name. In this case also I will collect the death certificate as I mentioned in DS230 that my father was died.
3) Also, I like to know, In other countries do they have this kind of rule or procedure? If father was died they use "Late" before the name or not?

Your specific answer will help me lot.
Thanks

I think you're bothering yourself so much. Your father is dead and that's all. Now the US authorities now your father is deseased and that there'll not be a situation where you want to invite your father to the States when you live there.

No need to add "Late" in your passport or birth cert. Just collect your father's death certificate from the relevant authority and present during the interview, if asked.

Thanks for the reply. But the problem is, this depends upon with the relevant authorities, may be they will not agree with me and add the "Late" before my father's name in passport and birth certificate. For that reason, still I have the following questions:

1) As there are no "Late" before my father's name in all educational certificates (father was alive that time) and in DS-230 Part I (mentioned the death of year) and if "Late" are included before my father's name in my passport and birth certificate.
*** This issue will make any problem at my interview?
(Ofcourse I will collect death certificate of my father)

2) Also, I like to know, In other countries do they have this kind of rule or procedure? If father was died they use "Late" before the name or not?

Sorry for bothering you people. Your specific answer will help me lot.
Thanks

1.) You are making a mountain out of a mole-hill

2.) The only authorities that are RELEVANT are US OFFICERS, and they dont care about this (so if your local government officials make a big deal, that is their problem, NOT US OFFICIALS)

1) As there are no "Late" before my father's name in all educational certificates (father was alive that time) and in DS-230 Part I (mentioned the death of year) and if "Late" are included before my father's name in my passport and birth certificate.

GET THIS CLEAR !!!!! Your father is not a member of your IMMEDIATE FAMILY that is included in the DV forms for coming to AMERICA. The only people who need birth/death certificates are YOU, YOUR SPOUSE, and YOUR CHILDREN because those are the ones coming to US (if alive) or not coming (if dead)

So, STOP WORRYING ABOUT HIS DEATH CERTIFICATE AND WHETHER THERE IS A "LATE" or whatever....:mad::mad:

2) Also, I like to know, In other countries do they have this kind of rule or procedure? If father was died they use "Late" before the name or not?

Who cares about other countries....you are dealing with US Consulate officials, so stop focussing on non-issues and "other contries" issues...aaarrghhh!!

Sorry for bothering you people. Your specific answer will help me lot.
Thanks

No one will give you a specific answer to a problem that only exists in your head....:confused:

FINALLY if this helps:
My mother-in-law died 2 year before our interview....and we noted her date of passing the DS-230 (that's it!!!!!) NO ONE again, NO ONE in the interview asked for her death certificate, of whether she is refered to as "Late" so and so...
