My mother is applying for citizenship. they are retired and have no source of income. I claim her as a dependant on my tax return.
She took 1 trip outside US for 8 months since they got the LPR. She has been in US for last 5 years.
She lives with us so no mortgage or rent receipts. I do have utility bills in her name.
I have been a

The checklist says :

If you have taken any trip outside the United States that lasted six months or more since becoming a Permanent Resident, send
evidence that you (and your family) continued to live, work and/or keep ties to the United States, such as:
a) An IRS tax return “transcript” or an IRS-certified tax return listing tax information for the last five years
b) Rent or mortgage payments and pay stubs."

When they ask for proof for continuous stay, What else can be submitted ?

Thanks

This is irrelevant if her trip was completed more than 4 years prior to filing an N-400 and your post indicates that it was 5 years ago.

I am aware that her trip was more than 5 yrs ago.
But the document checklist clearly states to send evidence along the N400 Application
if there was any trip outside the US longer than 6 months since becoming a Lawful Permanent Resident

The document may say that, but legally it's irrelevant, and the interviewer is not going to ask for such evidence for trips that ended over 5 years before filing the N-400.

Well, she needs to provide the evidence as per the checklist. Whether its legally irrevelant or not, thats for the Interviewer to decide.

The questions is what does she send with her N400 application since its required ?

You are dense. You fail to grasp the nature of the law. A silly old "checklist" does not carry the weight of a statute, regulation, precedent, policy, or even the form instructions.

So to answer your redundant and increasingly annoying question: "NOTHING is required for anyone else on Earth EXCEPT YOUR Mother" (and she must submit the kitchen sink and her first born as conclusive evidence).

It is legally irrelevant, and the interviewer is required* to ignore the trips from over 5 years before the N-400 filing. She does not need to provide that evidence.

*in the few cases where the interviewer asks for evidence of trips that ended over 5 years before the N-400 filing, that is only where the trip was 1 year or longer, and the evidence they ask for is a reentry permit because a green card holder is not normally allowed to stay outside the US for a year and return without that permit. If your mother's trip was less than a year in length, that reentry permit scenario is not applicable to her so the interviewer won't ask for it. And if her trip was a year or longer, the reentry permit would satisfy that issue, with no need to provide evidence of maintaining ties to the US during that trip.

Bigjoe5,
If it bugs your as% so much, go the fuc% away and ignore the question.
Your mother should have thrown you away and kept the stork.

Jackolantern,
She actually had 2 trips for more than 6 months since getting the GC. This is all before last 5 yrs.
The first trip was for 14 months and she has the reentry permit for evidence.
For the 2nd trip which was for 8 months, she has the reentry permit (as she had applied for it but never used it).

I guess then she need not submit any thing with her N400. if they send a RFE or have questions at the interview, she can show them the re-entry permit.

Cleared the interview and the oath today.
The office asked only for the re-entry permits for the evidence.
