Hello guys here we are preparing everything for the BIG JUMP!
Today we got our tickets, departure 14 september 2014 arrival in US the same day, our visas expire 3 october 2014, but now we are having some doubts... What do you think departing only 2 weeks before the visas expire is ok?

Hey, exciting times!!

Two weeks is plenty...lol...we arrived 5 days before ours expired! Guy didn't say a word about it being close to expiring.

Exceiting times. As Susie said - no need to worry about activating so late - even if your flight is delayed or you change the flights you have time.

Do you have a plan on where you will stay etc? Do you have jobs to go to? Please let us know your experiences - it can be very useful for others.

Thanks Britsimon :)
We don't have jobs in US yet and in fact we (me and my husband) are preparing resumes and we will start searching but I think it will be difficult to find a job from Italy
We have close relatives in Plano, Tx. so initially we are moving there. What do you think about this area?

I don't know about that town specifically but there are people on my home country forum who rave about Texas... jobs and cheaper housing and warm weather...

Texas in general has some REALLY good places to live. As Susie said, you can find great weather, cheaper housing, great cost of living and good jobs situation. There are some downsides politically for ne immigrants - but in the big cities that is less of a problem.

PLano is highly rated - check it out on this areavibes loisting...
