european cutt-off number for dv 2008

As far as I can see the cutt-off numbers will be stopped by around 18.300 to 18.400 numbers for eu dv 2008. I checked both u.s. ankara(now the site is a whole mess for dv interviews) and u.s. Warsaw consulates for the 2007, and saw the numbers for dv 2007 interviews are stopped as 16012 at ankara and 16022 at warsaw. Please let us know if anybody else who had more then 16xxx numbers who had an interview date in september 2007. If nobody did so, then it is true that no matter what country you are from, on average all the winners for 2008 winners as well do not stand a chance if their mumber are in 19xxx range and more. My logic is this...even in the past..approximately 70 percent of the european winners get an interview date before september 30..this year the number is 26300 for europe 26300x.70= 18.410..
you can see my logic this way as well: the number for october 2008 for EU is 5800 - minus the number that was for last year eu is 3500 equals: 2300 (the difference) in other words. 2300 hundred more people will be interviewed for dv 2008...
Please give your opinion about this issue...My number is 18xxx so I am very anxious to wait..may be I should apply for dv2009?

Thought there are other countries in EU also, exp. Turkey and Poland. Is it so hard to put the link in yr post when giving info? However it seems that you are suggesting that Visa Bulletin cut off numbers do not really matter at all, and nevertheless that for Okt the num. is 5800 seems some with lower num. than that will be interview in Nov or Dec; because 16000 cut off (EU) for DV 2007 was available in May2007. Hope what you have posted is b...s... otherwise there will be a lot of us without visa.

For DV-2007, natives of the following countries are not eligible to apply because they sent a total of more than 50,000 immigrants to the U.S. in the previous five years:

CANADA, CHINA (mainland-born), COLOMBIA, DOMINICAN REPUBLIC, EL SALVADOR, HAITI, INDIA, JAMAICA, MEXICO, PAKISTAN, PHILIPPINES, POLAND, RUSSIA, SOUTH KOREA, UNITED KINGDOM (except Northern Ireland) and its dependent territories, and VIETNAM. Persons born
in Hong Kong SAR, Macau SAR and Taiwan are eligible.

Poland was not eligible to apply for DV-2007 and the stopped at CN 16022? Very interesting!

... and you suggesed that all 26300 will return applications to KCC, so in the end after giveing 70% they will stop at 18000. FUNNY cause somebody posted that KCC sent additional NL for 2007 for EU because of low number of returned DS-230 forms.

just click it...you will see the september visa interview and where it is cut..last one I can see is september 25 with the number 16012... I just talk facts...in case of ankara site..as I mentioned before , the site is not updated, it shows the wrong time but when I checked it a month ago the highest number I saw was 16022 and the date of the interview was somehere in the last week of september.. I would love to get more information to show my theory is correct, unfortunately I could only find Poland and Turkey u.s. consulates posting the dv interview dates..you guys are telling me someone got the 2.nd letter and so on..what I am saying is very simple..PLEASE those who are the winners of dv 2007, please tell us if anybody....ANYBODY OUT THERE with a number more than 16022 have a interview date...very simple right...

That numbers must be wrong, and cannot be from DV-2007! For DV-2007 Poland was not eligible to apply for the lottery. The last winners from Poland were in DV-2006 (3,416). Check als the Visa Bulletin from August 2006 and try to find Poland.

hey tazmania may be there are russians or other nationals getting their interview there..(most iranians get interviews through turkey's ankara us consulate)
I do not know but what I see it is an official site...I am still ASKING PEOPLE is there anyone out there with more than 16022 number with an interview date in europe for dv2007??????????

Though Poland was not eligible for DV2007, the embassy in Warsaw would still need to conduct CP for winners who live in Poland and are eligible through other countries.
For example, there may be foreigners who are living and working in Poland who would prefer to do CP in Warsaw. Also there might be Polish citizens who became eligible either because they were born in an eligible country or else because they are married to someone who was born in an eligible country.

Ok, propably there are people from Ukraine, Latvia, Belarus... liveing in Poland and haveing interview there so it make sense, but the numbers in this document.... there are CN low as 2007EU1xxx, 2007EU2xxx ... which acording to Visa Buletin would have been interviewed last year in Okt. It seems not only the ones with very high case numbers should be worryied but also with low, cause in this link 90% of the CN sheduled are with numbers lower than 16000.

bump... anyone have any information about anyone with a EU CN >16000 getting an interview at Ankara (or elsewhere)?

It looks like one might be able to argue that AOS is "safer" if there is uncertainty that one would be scheduled for a CP interview for numbers current as early as June...

Congratz to the winner, well landing to the United States.
Know I am asking some of you, I am a little bit in stress because I dint get an interview appointment. My case number is 2008EU000005xx, in visa bulletin the number was current (5800 for Europe), but yet I haven’t got any information or mail. Some day ago I called KCC and the told your case is in process yet so to call after 10 days.
So my friends what is all this point? why waiting so long?
