10/09/2003 - Errors on Receipt Notices from Service Centers
According to sources, U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) service centers nationwide are experiencing errors regarding the length of time it is taking to process applications, petitions, motions and appeals on receipt notices issued by service centers on 10/6 and 10/7. The error has also caused the auto-answer system at the National Customer Service Center to incorrectly report processing dates. The errors are being attributed to an upgrade being implemented with the USCIS computer system. Until the problem is fixed, the California Service Center (CSC) will not be issuing receipt notices. We will update you as we receive further information
