Error on Military Records Document

Hi everyone,

Military records is one of the documents required in the interview and I have a problem with that document.
In fact, I didn't do any military services and they gave me (our military services authority) a military card that state that I am excempted from military service.
On that card, my name in native alphabet is incorrect, but in latin alphabet is correct.

What are the risks of presenting the document as is without correction?

I was under the impression you only had to submit records if you had actually served in the military, which you haven't?

I was too.

But on another forums someone did the interview in our country US consulate and list The military Card as required documents!!

It should be fine. Just present the military card and the error will be an obvious typo.
 
There's no mention of being required to show an exemption?

Military Records

Available. A military record (Livret Militaire) can be obtained by writing to the recruiting office (Bureau de Recrutement) in the place where the individual was called to report for military service. For persons who served in the French Armed Forces prior to 1962, military records can be obtained by writing to: M. le Commandant, Bureau Special de Recrutement, Chartres 28000, France.

There is an email address to send enquiries to on the US embassy in Algeria's website. Although as said above, if you do need to show it I don't think it will be an issue.

Your selection letter should have had a link to the dvselectee website, and that website specifically tells you to check the country reciprocity pages (link on p3 of the dvselectee site)
