Error in my Advance Parole Doc.

There is an error on my advance parole.

My name as shown on the document has an "E" as my middle initial instead of "I". My last name and first name are correct.

This error actually originated from the Laywer, in the I131 application.

I have not yet travelled with the document but there may be need for me to travel in June.

Please I need your advice on whether it is okay for me to travel with the advance parole OR whether to apply for a new advance parole.

If I travel with the current advance parole, what do you think is/are the risks(s)?

I traveled with my Advance Parole with my first name mis-spelled. I wouldnt really be concerned about it. What you should do is call the NSC telephone number and inform them about the discrepancy. They will correct in their system and you will get an acknowledgement from them in 30 days as well.

Thanks rg585 for your reply.

Did you call the NCS in your iwn case?

I did call NCS today but the lady I spoke with told me I have to re-submit another form I131, with a new fee since the error was not from USCIS.

She is correct, if it is not USCIS error and your lawyer did a mistake in name ask the lawyer to file new AP with fees from his side or get the AP corrected as it is lawyer mistake.

** personaly I dont see problem becase they will look at your passport and will also find the info with A# from USCIS computer system, but at this time better to be safe

In my case also, the attorney had actually made the mistake. Even my I-485 approval notice had the same problem and I called the NSC and they sent me a letter after around 30 days acknowledging the correction, but told me that I could go for the Passport stamping without any problem, which I did the very next day itself and I got my Plastic Card also within 10 days.

Just for info:
Did your I-140 approval notice or I-140 filing receipt had the correct name? Did you EAD and AP had the correct name and the same A# as on I-485 receipt

Did only your I-485 approval had the problem in Name? Or name misspelled
Did your I-485 had the same A# as on I-485 filing receipt?

Did you face any problem when you went for GC stamp or officer corrected in USCIS computer with A#
Does your plastic GC Card has same A# as on I-485

When did it happen?
your local USCIS office?
Because lot of changes due to security reason these days

---- I-140 and EAD had correct name. The last 2 AP's and the I-485 had the wrong name. A# was always correct.

Did only your I-485 approval had the problem in Name? Or name misspelled
Did your I-485 had the same A# as on I-485 filing receipt?

---- I-485 approval had wrong name. Yes, it had the right A#.

Did you face any problem when you went for GC stamp or officer corrected in USCIS computer with A#
Does your plastic GC Card has same A# as on I-485

---- No problems at all.

When did it happen?
your local USCIS office?

--- February 18th was the approval, received the Notice on 21st. Called the NSC on 24th, went for stamping on 25th, received the Plastic Card on March 5th or 8th (was out of town, so dont know which date). I got it stamped in Atlanta, GA.

And by the way, another guy Nick (murthy.com) had his last name totally mis-spelled and he had contacted me regarding the same problem. I adviced him to call NSC which he did and then he went for stamping (I think it was Philadelphia or somewhere). They had his passport stamped as well. He was very nervous and actually wrote me a long email thanking me for helping him out with this. He was very nervous about it, but things went well. He just got it stamped last week if I am not mistaken. He hasnt received the Plastic Card as yet.

Because lot of changes due to security reason these days

Thanks for sharing the info.

The reason for asking the info was because one of my friend got his I-140 approval notice with misspelled name
Here is his info:
His I-485 receipt has correct name ( Duggal )

His EAD has correct name and correct A# (Duggal )

His AP has correct name and correct A# as on I-485 filing receipt ( Duggal Anil K)

But his I-140 approval notice has his correct A# but name on I-140 approval is Dugggal ( it has extra G in his last name).

Do you see any problem? Does he need to correct his I-140 because I-485 is the base of I-140, I received email from him and don’t know how to answer him he talked to his attorney and attorney said it is not a problem what is your opinion
Thanks

There shouldnt be a problem at all. Just ask him to call NSC and inform them about the problem in the I-140 receipt and correct that information. If he gets a representative that will not take the change, just ask him to call again until they fix it. I was lucky that I got someone who took care of it the first time I called (with the I-485 approval notice) and she told me it wasnt a problem. Even the other guy Nick was not able to correct it the first time he called, but he got thru next time and another Rep. was able to help him out. Your friend should call first thing in the morning the NSC number. The Reps are more relaxed at that time and they listen and help you out. It is also much easier to get thru first thing in the morning (I got thru within 5 minutes). And in your friend's case, the I-485 receipt has the right name so there wont be any problem absolutely.

Thanks for the info, will inform him. He contacted NCSC but they told him that as he is the Beneficiary for I-140 and only Employer or lawyer can update the NCSC, but the lawyer and employer HR is not caring .

I will also ask him to send a letter to service center to correct the name on I-140
Thanks
