Error in I-94

Experts,

I discovered that the original H1 application had a typo in the I-94# .
The I-94# on the application is *6*********, but on my original I-94 card I-94# was *4********* (the correct number).

As a consequence, the I-94 cards I received with the H1 (and H1 extension) notices of approvals had the erroneous I-94# 56108169606.

i think this is a serious mistake and I'm sorry I did not caught it sooner or before the H1 was filed.

What should I do ? how can I correct this error ?

I'm also curious how does CIS/CBP use the I-94# to monitor entry and exit ?

Kindest regards,
yd

NO Worry

They give U a new I-94 number each time.
So the latest one is the valid one and I think U need not worry about it.

how come

biltoo,

Thank you, but if they give a different one every time, how come they gave me exactly the wrong one that was entred in the I-129 form ?

Could you please provide any "official" documentation about this ?

Kindest regards,
yd

Not correct .... you get the same I-94 number when you change status within the US.
(where a new "tear-off" I94 comes attached at the bottom of the approval notice)

You get a new I-94 number when you travel abroad and come back ....
(when you fill out a new I94 card)

so in this case, it is an error and its best to get it corrected

Thank you max2k1

Thank you, max2k1.

Do you know of it best corrected with a simple explanation letter to the CIS Service Center or I should use Form I-102 for this ?

everypne, please share your experience about correcting errors, especially on I-94 card.

Kindest regards,
