Hello everyone,

I am scheduled to appear in court for a referred asylum case from the immigration office. However, the NTA (Notice to Appear) was never sent to the court, and the date is approaching. I’ve also heard reports of people being detained for expedited removal. Is it safer to attend the hearing over Zoom?

Have you checked your A number on eoir website?
If you can appear via Zoom it's probably safer.

I hope you won't be detained.

nobody is getting detained unless u have a criminal record..
Not necessarily - there are cases when people without any criminal history are being detained.
My friend was detained but not in court and he had ZERO criminal history - his case was pending USCIS and now he's in detention.
