Wow that is wonderful news hopefully there will start February because it is true nothing the whole 2025 no body.

This is great news, I hope it arrives soon. My parents died in the process, but I have my younger brother in my country and he's all alone.

I have a question regarding recent news about immigrant visa processing being paused for certain countries.

For those of us who received verbal approval for 42B (Cancellation of Removal) and are waiting for the written decision due to the annual 4,000 cap, will these new immigrant-visa policies affect our cases in any way?

Since 42B green cards are issued through EOIR/USCIS inside the U.S. (not through consulates abroad), I want to confirm whether this news applies to us or not.

Hello, i have the same concern too, so i reached out to my lawyer, this was her response.
“Your grant of cancellation of removal is from EOIR and not USCIS and should not be impacted, but we will wait to see.”

immigrant visas are not the same as a "42B visa"
; an immigrant visa leads to permanent residency (a Green Card), while an EOIR-42B application (Form I-485 for 10-Year Cancellation of Removal) is a defensive application for Lawful Permanent Resident (LPR) status, usually filed within Immigration Court when someone is already in removal proceedings and qualifies for LPR status due to long presence and extreme hardship to family. It's a path to get a Green Card, not a typical visa type like H-1B or F-1.

I was listening an immigration attorney and it was mentioned that this applies to people who are outside of US and trying to get an immigrant visas (that can lead to CG).
