------ Indian passport dont have Employer address? Indian Passports don't have Employer address and Indian passport application or Passport rule/law has no requirement that one need to be employed if one apply for Indian passport. Indian passport eligibility is only that you have to prove that you are Indian Citizen. Do you think that all Indian Citizens or Indian passport holders are employed? It seems to me that they asked for your Home address prof like Copy of your US Driving licence and Copy of Utility bill on your name.

------- Dont send the OCI package back. You have your Indian passport with you and you have US passport with you. Check the Travisa site and call them what they need for Entry visa. Once you get Entry visa stamp then send the OCI application pakage with all the required documents.

OCI application ask for employer address. It is surprising that they returned the application due to not writing the employer address. One may not be employed.
Rajesh, if you dont mins asking which office did you applied to?
hope they send you your SC
It is better to go for entry visa now.

do they really ask for an employer address? isnt that nonsense?

i just got my oci but i cant recollect what i filled in for an employer, why do the indian consulate even care ?

They don't ask Employer address on Indian passport but they ask on OCI application Part B and it is not mandatory that the person who apply for OCI must be employed or must be working. Children dont work and are getting OCI. Do they mean Child also must work to get OCI? does it mean that the person who is not working or a lady who is eligible for OCI must have Employer address? one can write"not working" OP may have not attached Copy of DL or Utility bill and they may have asked for that.
