Entry Visa for India

I am planning to apply for entry visa to go to India for me and my wife at Houston Travisa. Should both of us need to go there in person and or is it OK if I can apply on her behalf also? It is a 4 hour drive for me. If possible I would like to leave the family behind and just go by myself.

Thanks.

You can apply for yourself and all family members. If you hand in your applications in the morning you should get the visas in the afternoon.

If you plan to apply for OCI in the future (provided you are eligible) you should go for the least expensive 6 months tourist visa that costs $73 whereas an entry visa costs $113.

Thanks. I wanted to apply for the tourist visa also. I am going to apply OCI for all of us when we go to India as we don't plan on coming back anytime soon back to the US. So when I checked with Travisa I was told that if I wanted to apply for an OCI in India then I should take "entry" visa from here and not "tourist" visa. Don't know why.
