Entering in USA on AP

Guys question on AP and H4 document (I797 but no VISA) while entering to USA

My wife is traveling to India while her return what are the documents she need to show to immigration officer.

1) She has valid AP from Jan 2007 to Jan 2008.
2) Valid H4 until 2010 (I797 but no VISA) .
3) EAD until Dec 2007 but it was never used.

So my understanding is she is still on H4 because EAD was never used. So just need to show AP while entering in USA.

1) What abt other documents if ask abt working status? Do she need to show EAD or H4 document also? We are kind of confused because EAD was never used before and not planning to use at least for next six month.

I797 is not H4 visa but its visa approval. To enter on H4 it needs to be stamped in passport. She should use AP to enter US.

I think AP is enough for her return with a valid I797 document.
I also have the same situation. My wife's passport is stamped with old H4 which was renewed recently. she has a new I-797 document but her visa in the passport expired(old one). I am assuming that the new renewed I797(H4) with AP is enough for her travel to india...anyone who thinks otherwise, please let me know.
