Entered Country through marriage, need divorce advice (15 years married)

I obtained my green card back in 2001 after entering the country on a visa (the one that allows me to marry).
I got married back in 1999, green card given in 2001 (states Permanent Resident on to of it).
But now I'm finding myself going through a divorce and I have no idea what happens next. It scares me.
Do I have to leave? How does this work? What do I need to do to sort this out?

Did you receive a 10-year green card? If yes, your permanent resident status in the US is not dependent on being married, and you won't have to leave if you get divorced.
