My husband is currently working in the states on TN visa. My son and I have been to the border with him once and got our TD visa (TD card?). All of us are Canadian citizens.
We plan to move (drive) to the states to join him next month and have two questions:
1. Does my husband need to be present with us at the border? Is there any chance the officers need to talk to him when we try to enter on TD visa? - He is in NJ and we plan to enter via Buffalo. If that's the case, it's going to take some time for him to show up
2. I need to file vehicle import when we enter. Does he need or is he recommended to be present for that? We are considering driving to the border and complete the vehicle import beforehand next time he is back in Canada, just to make sure there is no surprise when I try to enter by myself. Is it necessary?
Thanks in advance for your help!
