I got a letter from USCIS for the enquiry I requested this Monday. Here is the reply (in post mail):
I don't know if this is common that USCIS does not specify what exactly you are stuck into. Since they already move to Apr 2004 cases, I don't think they have an active backlog of older cases other than those stuck externally (like name check or background clearance). Is there a way to check the exact cause and expediate that processing? If FBI holds your name check for ever, what else can you do? I am afraid I will have to contact our local senators or congressmen now.
