I just found out a few I-602 approvals for alleged fraud. It looks like BCIs officers have a generous standard.

Gilbert,

Thanks for sharing this information!!.. My anxiety level has gone down a bit... Thanks!!!

Thanks for sharing Gilbert.

What is your source of information? Any information about denied I-602 waivers?

----------------

On the other user question - I-602 is a waiver for inadmissiblity due to not having proof to be addmited, entered illegaly, medical, criminal or any other reasons for Refugees/Asylees when found inadmissable.

Hope that helps.

You still have received no decision? As I recall, I think you applied last month. I do not think it takes longer than that. I know of two persons who got a TB waiver within two weeks. Have you check your case recently?

I mailed - July 29 and it was received July 31. How fast is that??

Even the case status was updated. Thumbs up for BCIS. However from August 1 till today are only two weeks past. Hope to get something soon. However a friend of mine filled I-602 for similar reasons on July 4 and still have not received anything yet.

Thanks for asking.

:)

Just checked my case status on-line and couldn't believe my eyes. My case was approved on August 14.

So the story in details:

Granted asylum: 08/26/97
Filed I-485 : 09/15/98
Receipt Date : 10/03/98

Fingerprints : 04/01/03
RFE received : 06/07/03
RFE mailed : 07/29/03
RFE received : 07/31/03
APPROVED : 08/14/03

I coudn't explain how does it feel. It's like a ---- RELIEF.

I would like to thank to all members and visitors to this forum, who shared or contributed very useful information, kept me upbeat and gave hope in some dark moments. That has been great support.

I wish everyone to have the pleasure to experience how does it feel as approved LPR as soon as possible. Good luck to everyone.

Cheers. Keep the faith

rik-tik-tak,

Any news on your friend that had applied around July 4th?

Talked with him yesterday. He is still waiting. His ground of inadmissability is that he claimed to be US citizen. So far no answer fro BCIS.

Hope that helps.

:)

Why would he claim to be a citizen? I could understand if he tried that in order to enter the US to apply for asylum. Otherwise it would have been a serious lapse in judgment on his part.

BYT, congratulations on getting your approval and God bless you.

Rik,

I hope he did not claim citizenship to vote, to collect welfare or anything like that.

That was the case with him. He was entering USA with a bus from Mexico and claimed to be US citizen on the POE. He was detained later on in immigration detention center, where he claimed asylum.

That's what I know.
