I have a job interview on this upcoming Monday as a private investigator.
My current permanent resident card indicates that it has expired as of 05/10/13; however, I have submitted the I-751 therefore maintain a legal status to work.
It obviously creates a problem for the employer when I hand them the GC and it shows that it has expired.
What I need to know is how I can show them that I am legal to be hired without being too complicated?
Some of the things that I can think of is providing them with my application #, which can be verified by them on USCIS case status section, or some type of Notice of Action letter from USCIS ever since the I-751 submission.
The problem with providing the any Notice of Action letter is that the only one I can find at the moment is the notice to show up at the biometric, and on top of that paper, it says in big font "THIS NOTICE DOES NOT GRANT ANY IMMIGRATION STATUS OR BENEFIT". I don't know if there were supposed to be any other letter since I-751 submission but I can't find any right now..
I would appreciate any advice, thank you.
EDIT: I just did some research and said that I would need a notice of extension letter, but I can't find this letter anywhere.
