In the N400 form they ask "where have you worked for the last 5 years?" I have tax documents supporting where I have worked, but I dont remember the exact dates when I got hired and when I quite. I can only guess the months and even that is a maybe. Do the exact dates matter, I dont remember. Please help!

Month/Year should be fine. You may not have a problem in getting your citizenship even if you are off a little. However, it should not be difficult to get a more precise (month and year at least) with a little effort by contacting you ex-employers, pay stubs, leases, old resumes, estimates based on your social security/medicare deductions on your W2 etc. Even if you were unemployed for a certain time it should have no bearing on US citizenship if you disclose that. If I were you I would not be lazy and put some effort in finding the exact month/date before I apply. 5 years in not a long period.

I am not an expert, this is just my opinion.

Agreed! No one should be lazy when it comes to dealing with Immigration officers. I contacted my ex-employers, some gave me the info and some didnt. I also dug up info from old resumes and tax returns. I can prove that I worked at particular place and payed whatever taxes that were necessary. I might still be off slightly, but it is better than just guessing.
