employment authorisation

I have a pending case and l was advised am only able to apply employment authorisation after 180 days provided l dont stop the clock. Infact l was told can apply for this authorisation on or after July 10 2009.My case is pending before IJ my question is what if the IJ dismisses my asylum application and l appeal do l stand a chance to be granted work authorization whilst l wait for my new hearing or l have to wait afrest for a new 180 days am not sure about this rule.Help.

you can apply for EAD after 150 days, not 180, and you don't have to wait for another 150 days "or 180"

I applied mine just after 150 days,check the clock by calling 800 number as it will inform u about d days. Dont worry since u hv been referred to IJ now, so its gonna take longer time for it to be processed, in the meantime u can apply for work authorisation..
