Hi all,
I need help, I got my H1b approved last year, my employer didn't let me have the original approval notice and I-94( I got converted from OPT to H1b)
Now when I booked my ticket to go to India for visa stamping, they told me that my original notice has been lost! and now they will reapply for I-824 which will take almost 6 mo.
My questions are as follows

1) how can i use it to my benifit?
2) Can the apply for a new H1b instead of I-824
3) Can I start my GC procedure w/o having my H1b stamped?
Your answer are appreciated
thanks
amit

Yes - You can get a replacement

You can get a replacement fom INS for the lost H1 approval and I-94 but I think that request should come from your employer.

By LAW employer should give you the original I-94 (its your property) and a copy of H1 approval (original belongs to the employer)
