Hi,
I work for an indian based large IT company. Currently I am on H1B and have got another job and my new employer has already filed my H1B-transfer.

I have given 2 weeks of notice to my current employer. My project with the present employer is also getting over in next 3-4 weeks.
They aren't willing to release me now and want me to continue till end of the project.
If I continue till the end of the project then I have to lose the new job.

What are the implications If I quit after 2 weeks?

They owe me
1) This month's salary.
2) US earned leave encashment.
3) Indian earned Leave encashment.
4) PF, Gratuity in India.

Will they be able to create any problem in paying the above things?

Thanks,
Manas.

If the terms and conditions based on which you have been deputed and which have been accepted by you is 2 weeks notice, you should be able to leave with a 2 weeks notice. If a 4 weeks notice is required as per your employment terms, then that is what you will have to provide.

what do you mean by "releasing".

as the user techie8 mentioned you are required to give agreed notice period prior quitting.

common man u can quit any time u want as long there is no bon/agreement b'ween 2 parties - if there is no bond - just quit. About all your pending paybacks u need sort it out in pleasant way - unless u want to leave a bad taste before quitting...
