Hi all,
My employer did not pay the SS taxes for 2003. We came to know this as one of the employee saw his SS Statement and then we also checked ours and they did not pay the SS Taxes for all the employees. When we asked them they are saying that they will pay next month its already a month and still they did not pay.
Our W-2's say that the amount is taken for that year also the paystubs say that the amount is taken from our pockets we have the proof that the amount is taken from us(W-2's and Paystubs).
I called the SS Office they are saying that come to office and show the proof and we will record it. But they are not clear what if the Employer did not pay the Taxes.
Also in 2004 they changed the company name but still they are the owners and all remined the same.

Please throw me some light where to go from here so that i won't loss the money.

Thanks

This is typical for some corrupt companies. They deduct the taxes but don't remit to IRS.

They may not have even submitted your tax withholdings to the IRS. The way to find this out is to go to IRS.GOV and requst a tax return transcript. You can also request your wage and tax statements.

You will then come to know if he remitted taxes for you if there was a w-2 filed for you. If w-2 wasn't filed for you then they didn't remit the taxes either.

For my interview in June i requested the tax transcipts from IRS it showed the right amounts. And also every year i file the taxes and i get some money back from federal and state governments.
Does this prove that my employer submitted the tax withholding to IRS or still there can be any fraud involved in this?
