All,

I have a difficult situation. I just filed my I-485 and got the receipt. My company's current contract expiring dec 31 and looks like my company won't get the contract and some new company will get that. In this situation what happens is only very few people leave and rest of them stays with the new company sitting at the same place doing the same work. My question is if I get the job in the new contract, what happened to My I-485, will it be okey..??? Please guys..send your input...

Thanks

It is a risk

There are many who have taken the risk (no other good option) of changing employer before 180 days. Find a lawyer who has the opinion that 180 days of AC21 is for INS to adjudicate and not for the candidate's employment status..

You will be okay

I am in the same boat as you are..I work on a govt contract and changed job twice because of contract got transferred to different company..Since nothing changed, my job profile, salary etc..my lawyer said there won't be any problem..It's been 2 years I filed my 485...Just make sure your previous company doesn't revoke your I-140..
