Emergent trip without AP approval ? Pls advise

Hi GuestUSA,
Today i went to charlotte Local USCIS office they told unless it is an medical emergency they wont issue a Emergency Parole, My question is do i need to prove for medical emergency or just tell them that there is an emergency. Please help.

you need proof

An medical reason seems good to convince the INS officer for emergency AP. But you do have to have proof(document) to show, like a letter from Hospital et al. If it is other than English, you need to translate and have sb notarize. Be prepared, any try again.

Good luck

I have similar situation as GUESTUSA

My wife has to travell India urgently as her father was hospitalized. As her green card is pendind and we havn't renewed the AP, she went to Boston local office to get an emergency AP. The first day the people at the front desk asked her to get some fax from the doctors (just to get the token and get inside). The next day she went with the relavent fax and got inside.. They said that they don't have authority to issue an AP and asked her to appy from Vermont online and request to expedite the process.

We did that.. the fax was sent on Monday (6/21) no reply from them.

I'm thinking of approaching the senator's office.

Do any of you have a suggestion for me.. Thanks.
