I appeared to fingerprint collection today. But I made a mistake. I offered my wife's SSN as mine. The officer told me SSN was just extra information. Only Alien number and Receipt number does work in my case and I can change SSN in interview. I wonder if he is right and whether or not it will effect the process and result of My case.

In addition, how long will I know interview date and how long of it to wait for interview normally after fingerprint collection.

He is right, during your interview the AO will ask you if you want to make any corrections on your statement, so you should have to explain this plus any other errors if you find before the interview and I don't think that it will affect your case. interview time: most of the time from 2 weeks to 1 month on mine I waited for 20 days after finger print collection. good luck!
 
Thanks very much. I heard that it would be 10 days for applicants to pick up the result after interview. I have a trip after interview. May I reschedule the picking-up date in interview?

Most of the people pick up the decision in 10 days or 2 weeks but not always, others like I did have to wait for months or maybe years, you know It depends. what do you mean you have a trip after interview? if you mean you have to leave the U.S. while your case is pending I advise you consult to a lawyer.
 
No. I won't leave US. I just go to California for about 10 days. I am afraid if I can not go back to pick up the result in 10 days period, the result of my case will be canceled. Can I reschedule a pick up date with AO?
 
Is your trip more important than your asylum case?

Don't make your case more complicated by rescheduling unnecessary things.
