Emergency Travel

Hi all,

My wife has to leave to India on an emergency. We have applied for 485 18 months ago. We have our EADs. I have changed my job AC21 but she never used her EAD. Her old travel document expired 6 months ago and we have applied for the new in June of this year. We are planning to go to local INS and get Travel doc. She would like to go for at least 3months because of the situation but I heard that emergency travel docs are issued only for a month. If anybody got emergency travel doc recently, please share your experience, So that we can make decision as soon as possible.

1. My wife's H4 expires next month. Can she travel w/o travel doc?

2. What If she gets RFE on her travel doc and she already left?

My wife got emergency document from Houston INS office, Actually my wife b/o met with an accident back India and we got a doctor certificate from hospital and FIR from police station and docments to prove the relationship like passport where the fathers name mentioned.

She got it with in couple of hours, she got for one year multiple entries, make sure you have valid reason to emergency AP.

You need 2 passport photos, application, 485 receipt and copies of previous AP's and EAD(if available), since you applied the AP already they may not take fees, but in any case take money order for $110/-.
