emergency advanced parole

My advanced parole doc expired in February. I chose only to renew my EAD and not my AP since I was not planning on traveling abroad this year. However, some recent developments regarding family health issues are causing me some concern. The ever increasing case processing times are no solace either.
In event of an emergency (family crisis, etc.), I heard that we can get an emergency AP from the local office.
Could someone please verify if this is true?

Your suggestions will be of great help.

Thanks.

It is possible but solely on the USCIS discretion (chances are very remote). I dont think any body wants to run around CIS office during emergency. First of all, even if we have advance parole our travel time itself makes difficult in times of emergency.

Better apply it ASAP if you are not worried about spending $100.00 coz there may be times when money matters nothing compared to things that we care for and emergencies do not knock your door and come in.

Thanks

Emergency parole are not very rare. you can get it at any ins location that gives out emergency paroles. not every one of them does. so verify before you go.

the listing of the offices at he uscis site tells you what each office is capable of handling. for example, milwaukee does not fo emergency paroles but chicago does.

get there in the morning and then let them know your travel plans and reasons. generally a health report is useful and a travel itinerary print out is also useful. they will get together and have a meeting and approve your advanced parole right then and there. so its shd be all done in about 4 to 5 hours.
