Eligible for a F-1 if married with Green Card Holder?

Hi,
I am married to a Green Card holder and under J-1 now. My J-1 is ending soon, and I was thinking of applying in a US school but was wondering about my eligibility now. Can I have a F-1 visa even if I am married to a Green Card holder, or is not compatible? Thank you for your help.

You can apply for COS to F-1 status once you get your I-20. It may or may not be approved. Are you subject to 2 years of HRR? That may play a part down the road when your spouse becomes a US citizen.
