Eligibility for 245(i)

Hi all,
I came to USA on Oct 2000, I felll out of status on April 10th 2001. I believe I was eligible for the 245(i) act then if i applied. Everywhere I saw regarding the eligiility requirements, I have seen tht one should have applied before april 11th 2001 only, only then they are eligible. Is tht true....? was there any kind of extension or change in tht law. I mean can i apply for it now?
Please kindly answer my question.

In order to qualify for 245i, you must have been physically present in the United States on December 22nd 2000, and have a priority date before May 1st, 2001. If you haven't already started the immigration process, it is too late for you.
