Egyptians winner meet here

Regarding this issue, i would like to share with you something happened with me, few months ago , i sent email to the US embassy in Cairo asking for what documents to translate?, and they answered me with, dv winners are not required to translate thier document...., i was looking to the email wondering ! OMG how !!! saying to my self " all document in Arabic" so how the employee saying that to me?!! , he does not know the instruction!!!" saying to my self ", and finally i decided to ignore his advise and i will translate all the document, but now i see you also saying that translation is not required, so the employee was RIGHT, hmm i have read in the instruction that all document not in English should translate into English,, what do you think about this??

i have another Q ,i'm DV 2014 winner but i won with old photo, i mean i submit on 2012 old photo not present one as they asked
and of-course my face features little changed " for example i'm fatter now:)
so, have you ever read or aught any one refused cause his submitting photo in October was old one?
by the way, i sent new photo to K CC with my forms.

About translation of documents. The rule is that documents must be presented in English OR in the official language local to the embassy where the interview takes place. So - if you have an interview in Paris then the document would need to be in English or French. If you had a document in German, that would not be ok for Paris embassy but would be fine for use in Berlin.

For the photo, strictly speaking you broke a rule by using the old photo - however, it is unlikely they will bring it up and your recent photo submitted with the forms will be used anyway.

Dear Simon, I am sorry if repeating this concern but I need an answer as my CN is AF19xxx, But my interview will be in an UAE which is an Asian country. As Informed earlier I am expecting that the cut off for Africa will cover my CN by Jan 2014 but I am not sure if it will cover Egypt. Can any one advice when I should expect my interview? I have to estimate a timing for the interview as the police record requires 45 days to be issued from Here and It is valid for 3 months only!!!!

You case will be processed accoring to the AF region cutoff - regardless of where you do the interview. The case number cutoff for December will be close to your number, so you could normally expect the case to be interviewed in December or January for sure. HOWEVER, Egypt has a special cutoff and the numbers are moving slower for Egypt, so if your chargeability is Egypt, then you will probanly find your case is delayed - but that is very difficult to estimate.

Wait a couple of days to see the December bulletin and see what happens on Egypt.

As per the VB in April 2013, the cut off for Africa was 33500 and for Egypt it was 19125 which cover my CN, sahll I expect the interview in April, Is my assumption is wrong?

That is a good assumption, but this year will be somewhat different - so do watch the VBs
 
Dear Egyptian friends, Where are all the people who had their interview in October? and those who will have their interview in Nov& Dec, wish you a good luck. let us keep posting and exchange our experience with each other.
Now I have a serious question concerning the following requirements " Proof of the petitioner's financial support for the visa applicant and the petitioner's domicile in the United States, including Form I-864, Affidavit of Support, U.S. Federal Tax Returns for the three (3) most recent years, and proof of employment ". Do you have any suggestions or thoughts about this particular requirement since I was under impression that all we need is to show a bank statements with reasonable fund that convince the CO about our financial capability and not to be a public charge?
I would appreciate if you could clarify this point to me and best of luck to you all.

some CO does not recognise bank ststement while some does,To be on a safer path,get a statement of support and as well a bank statement with reasonable balance like $10,000 for one person,$20,000-25,000 for family of three.
