Hi
Me and my husband efiled our 765 and 131 on 02/18. At that time, we got this message on the application form for the 765 :

You will receive a notice in the mail confirming your scheduled appointment with the Application Support Center,
as determined and scheduled by the USCIS.
• Do NOT self-schedule your appointment through the USCIS National Customer Service Center!
• The Application Support Center will collect your biometrics from you at the time of your BCIS scheduled
appointment (which you will receive in the mail).
• YOUR APPLICATION CANNOT BE PROCESSED UNTIL YOU HAVE APPEARED FOR YOUR
APPOINTMENT AT THE APPLICATION SUPPORT CENTER.

What does this mean - do we wait for the FP and photos for the EAD. On calling the NSC 800 number, the rep also say to wait and if dont get the letter in 2 more weeks, then call back. Also she asked us for our ASC Fingerprint code - in our case it was blank. The rep said that it could because some service centers are also taking biometric data, it could mean we have to wait. But she was not really sure - Anyone has any experiences. We live in NJ and our ASC is Newark probably. Both me and my husband are on EAd so we would prefer to not delay the renewal. Any advice/suggestions/comments?

Hi,

We are planning to efile our 765 and 131 and was wondering, what happened next to your case. please let us know.

how long does it normally take to get it processed in efile?

thanks!

I efiled i-765 about two mos ago. I got what I then thought of as a regular rfe requesting me to call that 1-800 # and make an app for biometrics. That was almost 5 weeks after the filing. Until I got the notice I had completely forgotten about the photo, fingerprints, etc., so I was thinking that i got a rfe because of my no show at the local ASC. But I guess I was doing the right thing, i.e., not self scheduling for biometrics!! I haven;t received a new EAD yet, but my current is good till early July, and so I am not worried, at least not right now..

They took a picture of me (just like a pic for the driver's license), my electronic fingerprints (index fingers of both hands, I think), and an electronic signature.

I hear paper filing is faster than e-filing, though the efiling process may be getting better these days. Either way, do apply early!

I e-filed my 765 on Feb 17th, it got approved today (4/20). From my conversations with others who paper filed around the same time as me and in many instances 2 weeks after me, got their approvals within 30-45 days.

My case took about 60-65 days (e-file) I am sure e-file has its advantages, but I didn't see any. It might be getting better, but I haven't heard anything to suggest so.

Ys I also thought the same that we dont have to schedule an appointment ,so I called the customer service center ....and the lady told me that it means that the applicant has to call the CSC and they will schedule an appointment ,basically the CSC people are scheduling the appointment not the applicant itself .This is the explanation she gave it to me about that "self schedule" clause .Anyhow we make an app and went for it .Hope we will get the EAD without any problem
