Dear Immigration guru's

I am going to file my 3rd EAD.
Is it advisible to do E'File of I-765?

I went through E file tips & other links

I come across below line :

Do Not Submit Photographs if You are E-Filing.
After you have E-Filed your application, U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services will take
your picture during your scheduled appointment at the Application Support Center.

When we E'file EAD do we need to send our 2 pictures?

Any thoughts,suggestions are welcome..

What is this Application Support Center (ASC)?
Is it advisble to do E file?

EAD renewal - e-filing

After too much research and reading, I filed for my EAD renewal online. It takes only 5 minutes to file all of the stuff, and then you just take the copy of the receipt notice and the application form (generated as a PDF), schedule an appt with local INS for demographics (digital photo and signatures) and mail the other supoorting docs with copy of receipt notice and application form to INS.
For me:
I e-filed on Wednesday night, scheduled an appt on Thursday for Saturday afternoon, was done with demographics appt in lesss then 5 minutes, mailed the papers on Monday (Previous EAD copies, I-485 copy, I-94 copy) and recieved my physical receipt notice the following Monday. So in all I spend 8 business days to file and get actual receipt notice with my RD/ND same as the first wednesday.
I think this rocks considering how much risk you take filing manually and hope that your packet reaches there safely and is opened and keyed in to the system and you get the notice.

I am for e-filing and believe me there is no loose end with it, the lawyers don't recommend it because they'll loose their fees (in my case $250) for filing.

Sorry man, I didn't read the exact question.

You don't have to send the extra photographs, the ASC staff with take your digital photo and fingerprints.
ASC is the Local INS responsible for doing FP. You just walk in there with the copy of receipt generated at the end of e-filing (a PDF file)
Make sure you print both the Receipt notice (one page with a bar code at the bottom) and the actual application form (which you woul have filled manually in case of manual filing, in e-filing it automatically generates it for you in a pdf format)

this appointment at local ins center. can we choose a date that we want or do we just walk-in. can we choose any center.

I have 6 months for EAD to expire. can i do it now

I filled up AR11 form.

Can I go to local Office in NJ ?
Do they give you appoinment on Phone?
Is there any charges for taking photographs.

Q. for experienced eFilers ?

After efiling the EAD did you mail stuff to INS ?
DId you use "Certified Mail" ? ("with return receipt")
 
EAD e-filing contd..

I also did AR-11 but it was in the same state so didn't really matter.
Now as you'll be filing for EAD renewal with new addess which is in NJ, you'll be allowed to take an appt in Newark, NJ INS.
Once you file for the EAD renewal, call the no. they mentioned on the website, give them the details of EAD filing, name, center and address and they'll automatically give you appt. time options for NEwark, NJ. You can chose then based on your convinience.
I think Saturday late afternoon is best (arround 2-3 PM)

Mailing Papers:
I did use certified mail but didn't ask for return receipt. I had the USPS tracking receipt which I used to track the packet, but somehow lost it afterwards (so foolish of me)
My Advise - Please don't loose anything.

How much time it takes on day of an appoinment?

what you will suggest me to apply online orin traditional way...

I am not sure what make ppl efile its good. my attorney recomded for efile yourself. because of big headache of sending documents ang taking appointment to Application centers blah blah. I prefered to sent once and used manually process. still waiting for approval. I think sending manually is less risk then efile. specially to avoid RFE's which I learned most ppl gets who efile EAD. anyway goodluck to u.

btw attorney asked just $75 for his fees. and $140 is pettition fee for INS. he took less from me but other Attorney chages $125 to 150 and Pluse $140 for EAD fees.

eFiling EAD

They take digital picture and Finger Prints (as you filed online
so its like digital signature)
My Appt was for 2:00PM, I reached at arround 1:40 and was in out by 1:55PM as there is hardly any line for demographics. There were a lot of people for Finger Printing and they take a No (I belive its white card) and for demographics its a different set of nos (Blue Card) and we were the only one there.
I am not an atty to suggest anything, I am just sharing what I did. FYI - I filed for my 2nD EaD manually as the e-filing was just
introduced and did not want to take any chance. When the time came for 3rd EAD , I checked with some of my friends and they had no problems with it so I filed it. I myself found it very simple and easy and trust me their is no hastle of anything. Total effort is 10 minutes, except that you have to drive to Newark for your FP.

I have trusted e-filing, not just because of Lawyer Fee ($150 for each applicant). The best part is my ND and RD is the day I filed in online, unlike previous year where my ND was 25 days after my Fedex recieved Date.

I just efiled today and got the receipt # SRC04800xxxxx ?

I think this is a funny number !

SRC-04-800-xxxx

SRC = TSC
04 = 2004 ( Year starts from Oct 1 2003)
800 = This is supposed to be the day ???

Any idea why 800
 
Hi All
I am e-filing my EAD renewal application.I have 2 questions:
Manner of last entry:
I entered on Advance Parole,is this the same as Advance Parole(District Auth) as mentioned on the site.
Also what should I enter as current immigration status?My current status is I-485 pending,h1 expired.


Also,
I do not have a printer at home.Can I save the receipt file and application file and print it elsewhere?
