effect on f-1 visa due to gap of one semester

Hii

i have taken a brake from my studies in dec 07 and also informed the college about the break , they ask me to fill a form that when i am planning to return to usa.After that i came to india, now i want to join the college in May 08 semester. Do i need to take the visa again. As my visa is still valid upto 2010. My univ told me to send new bank statement to issue new I-20 and they also told me that probably i don't need to take visa again. But still i have a dout. Plz help me.

Your visa stamp should be still valid, just get a new I-20.

Thanks for reply......and one more question if i extend my brake upto fall 08 means more than 5 months gap .....than also my visa is still valid...
