Effect of Traffic Tickets for the decision by the Officer at the interview ??

I have been in the US almost seven years and until last 2 months , I had a completely clean driving record. But recently , I got two tickets and I am planning to go court and defend myself..

I am planning to apply my citizenship at the end of May.. So , my question is when I have an interview with the officer do you think my traffic violations , speeding tickets etc can have a negative impact on his or her decision ?? Except couple speeding tickets and some minor traffic violations , i did not do anything wrong or bad. I paid my speeding tickets but for these 2 tickets , I really want to go to court and talk to the judge .. So , what you think ? Should i just pay tickets and go to interview and show proof or should I go to court , defend myself ? Is the interview officer can think negative about 4 traffic violations ? Thanks a lot..

I would not disclose them if they are under $500 and didn't involve an arrest (dui or reckless driving).
You'll be just fine.

What about the traffic court cases ? Should I mention them even though they are dismissed ?

So basically I am not gonna mention any traffic tickets under $500 on my application , correct ??

I got one for speeding back in 2005 ant got dismissed in the court which i mensioned om my n400.
But got another one two weeks before mailing my n400 and didnt disclose that.
(by my lawer)

Wrong. You are supposed to disclose all citations. There is no need to provide documentation for citations under $500.

It's not wrong. Numerous postings, calls to the INS and law firms have confirmed that it is not required to disclose the information if the ticket is under $500 or a so called "minor traffic ticket".

If you want to argue and split hairs about the exact wordings of the questions on the N400 form then you are also supposed to disclose "all" your memberships and affiliations. Including store memberships, churches, etc...

Did you disclose your Costo membership or Sam's club membership?

The only issue I see is that an IO could ask the question about traffic tickets and then you should answer correctly. But once you got your citizenship the INS or goverment will NOT revoke it just as they wont take it away from somone who did not disclose his/her memberships.

IMO, there has been to much talk about the issue of minor traffic tickets, and the reality is that they are non-material. The N400 also asks if the applicant has ever broken the law in a broader sense. Now if you would be honest, I am sure you broke the law in the past by either going above the speed limit or downloading an mp3 file etc.. as would have most applicants who answered NO to this question. If we are splitting hairs here then anybodys application or citizenship could be in danger of either beeing denied or revoked.
