My boyfriend is married to a US citizen. they married in 2008. they only lived together for 2 months after marriage before he had to move back to his home country Egypt. He married her when he was in the states on student visa. They never filed I-130. They got divorce last Septemper. Will that affect his application for student or tourist visa to the US in the future? will he get hard time at interview?

Thank you for your response. He is actually worried about the fact that getting married could be taken as a proof of immigration intent especially since the marriage occured 2 months upon his arrival plus he had know her for a year before his trip to the cuntry.

However there was no I-130 filed, which shows that even after being married ot a US citizen, he did not pursue a green card.
