education issue - BS in Computer sc or related

Hello friends,

I'm trying to use a pre-approved labor whose education requirement is "4 year BS in computer science or RELATED".

I have a 4 years bachelors degree in Electronics and Comm. from India and working towards my masters degree here in CS here in US.

Education evaluation agencies say that they cannot combine courses from foreign schools and courses here in US to give a consolidated report that says it equivalent to BS in CS

I'm trying to get a course by course evaluation to justify my case.

I'm wondering, since the requirment says "Comp sc. or related" shouldn't Electrinics and comm. be sufficient? My lawyer is not comfortable with filing this case :(

Any suggestion/help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance

Your lawyer is right. Comp Sc. and related cannot be shown to be as one in EE.

howcome...

Jharkhandi,

What is the basis of your statement that EE or Electronics and Computer Science are not related degrees ?

In my view they are related since many people here have filed their 140s with such a relation and got through.

I do not see any educational equivalence between the two as per the post. What else?

What post ??

Looks like you have no clear evidence to put forward in support of your argument. In that case we all are playing here a guessing game. I have posted this question in Vermont 140 thread since there are alot of people posting on various issues.

We shall keep our quest up for the answer to the degree equivalency meanwhile.

Thanks,

No one is playing guessing game. Here is what I posted in VSC thread for you:

*********************************************************

B.S in Comp Sc. and related Degrees doesn't means any other engineering degree.

B.S in Comp Sc. or equivalent may mean what your point is subject to proving educational equivalence.

*********************************************************

Have some polity. I have no problem in accepting if someone is telling right. But keep guessing game part for yourself.

This does not make any sense. It must be other one
i.e.
B.S in Comp Sc. or related Degrees doesn't means any other engineering degree.

Degree in Electronics & Comm. must be ok for that.

Can you spot the difference between:
1. B.S in Comp Sc. and related Degrees
2. B.S in Comp Sc. or equivalent

If not then my post was not for you.

For 1 - Degree in Electronics & Comm. is not OK
For 2 - It may fit - subject to eduactional evaluation.

why would any one say "B.S in Comp Sc. AND related Degrees".. "B.S in Comp Sc. OR related" makes sense isn't it?

Is "B.S in Comp Sc. OR related" is different from ""B.S in Comp Sc. OR equivalent" from your understanding.

Thanks
