Education Degree and Financial Support for DV

Hi,

I am one of the randomly selected and I have two questions regarding the documents we need for interview:

1. I am a graduate student doing my M.Sc. thesis now. I also have two B.Sc. degrees. Do I have to provide my High School degree for interview or I can present my B.Sc. degrees or M.Sc. transcripts instead?

2. In order to show that I can afford to live in the US without any problem, is it true that having Job Offer along with Affedavit of Support helps convince this issue or getting Job Offer does not have any influences?

thank you for your help

Hello. It is best to provide as much information as you can, even if it seems redundant, so it would be safer to also have a copy of your high school diploma. I believe that the job offer letters have also been used to aid the interview approval, although proof of adequate funding usually suffices. It certainly doesn't hurt to show your job offer letters, if they are available.

By the way, I am a successfull DV2006 winner who did AOS (my detail AOS process is described at http://www.immigrationportal.com/showthread.php?t=223312 ). Although I have a BS, MS, and PhD from American universities, I was advised by representatives on the USCIS hotline to include all degrees from high school through graduate school in my AOS package and to have them availabe at my interview. The official at my interview did not ask to see any of my degrees but he saw that I had a large package of supporting evidence with me. If you do CP, it might be a little different, but it's still better to be safe than sorry.

Good luck to all.

Show everything you've got as financial evidence, job offers included and especially!
Each Embassy/Consulate looks at evidence differently, so more is always to your advantage.

Good luck

I am not in the US. As far as I know, If I want to get job offer, I should apply for it as a foreign applicant. I don't know what to do for applying for job offers. Could you please help me to be familiar with the process of applying for job offer as a foreign applicant?

Thanks

Hello. I don't want to sound discouraging, but it will be a lot harder to get an actual job offer as a foreign applicant without a green card already in hand. You can try searching Monster.com or HotJobs.com to see what oppurtunities are available. If you know where you would like to work, you can search the companies' websites and look under the "Careers" section. However, all else (qualifications and such) being equal, US companies would rather offer jobs to people who already have approval to work in the US, rather than wait for you to have your permanent residence approved. For a specialized job with few qualified applicants, you might get a conditional job offer but it still won't be easy.

Try your best to get a job offer but if you can't, then make sure that your affidavit of support is as strong as possible (sufficient funds, etc.). Good luck.
