Hello everyone---
I am stuck in this messy situation of H1-B application and there seems to be no way out. It would be really appreciated if you could provide me with your valuable advice.
In Mid-June, I met with an immigration lawyer and started the 1st step of H-1B application--getting a salary survey from EDD. After 2 weeks, the survey came back which stated that my reported title 'Entry Level, Financial Analyst' requires a much higher salary than my current pay. So my lawyer changed my title to 'Entry Level, Investment Research Analyst' and submitted the second prevailing wage request. However, the reply from EDD in California was exactly the same as the 1st survey. The old title 'Financial Analyst' and the old requested wage was still shown on the page.
My questions are as follows:
1. Is it possible for me to submit another prevailing wage request through a different law firm to get a different survey result?
2. Even though my current employer can raise my pay to the prevailing wage level, will EDD or INS accept my new pay under the same job title?
3. Any great advice?
****My OPT expires in August 2003, so I really don't have a Plan B if this application does not work out. Help please!!!!
