EB2 vs EB3 for Physicians (non NIW)

Hello,

I thought physicians are qualified for EB2 category. I have seem some here on these forums who have applied under EB3.

Why would one apply under EB3? I thought EB2 is faster, correct?

Does anyone knows what would be time from start (applying for LC) to finish for VT processing center?

Would PERM make any difference in the processing times?

I think the EB2/EB3 thing came up for people from countries where medicine at least on paper is a bachelors degree (MBBS).

Especially with the retrogression, there is no reason to aim for the EB3, particularly if you are from a country with meaningful immigration to the US.
