EB2 - Possible titles and Qualifications/Salary

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I am starting this thread for Eb2 approved, pending and prospective applicants to post the title they have applied under or planning to apply for the labor. Also, if you can post the qualifications that you have indicated or planning to indicate in your labor application, that would be great.

Also, when I go to the following site http://www.flcdatacenter.com/ to determine Prevailing wage determination, I search a certain title and the corresponding salaries. It outputs 4 different wage levels. Can a EB2 category fall under level 3 wage or it has to be necessarily a level 4 wage?.

Any inputs?

There is no direct correlation between wage level and qualification for EB-2. Exact same education+experience requirements could result in different wage levels for different job titles - on the other hand, EB-2 qualification is achieved by MS+0 or BS+5 (irrespective of the wage level or job title). For e.g., a S/w engineer for BS+5 falls under level III wage while CIS Manager for BS+5 falls under level II wage - both qualify for EB-2. On the other hand, S/W Engineer with requirement of BS+4.5 years will fall under Level III wage, but will not qualify for EB-2 !

PV thank you for your response.

What does CIS stand for?. I thought that a managerial position should be wage Level III or level IV; According to your post, CIS Manager has a lesser salary level than a software engineer with the same 5 years of experience. It is not clear.. Can you clarify further?

S/W Level III isn't higher salary than CIS Manager Level II. E.g., for King County in Washington, S/W Engineer Level III is $86,653 while CIS Manager Level II is $92,040.

For job title of "Software Engineer", the experience required according to onet (http://online.onetcenter.org/) is max of 4 years. 5 years requirement obviously exceeds onet's max requirement. Hence SWA would declare a requirement of BS+5 years for "Software Engineer" as Level III or even Level IV.

For CIS Manager, according to ONET 5 years experience is normal. Hence BS+5 years would be considered Level II for "CIS Manager" usually.
