If the story is fake or at least not strong then they may have issue before the officer as well. But unfortunately the system is not airtight and many fake applicants get through both at the officer or IJ stage while real ones may get denied. It all depends on how the IJ/officer is, their mood on that day and such other factors. It’s just how it is and has always been

Unfortunately that’s correct but most of the fake stories gets denied I would say 75% of it ! I can’t believe all of these people were lying as when i open the old topics here i find posts from asylum applicants asks “hello my country is safe now after 1 year can I withdraw my case and go back then back to usa with my vida?? What the hellllll!!! Are you kidding me!!! Tons of people like that unfortunately
